About our tutors this year
Emily Barden is a singer songwriter, performing acoustically both as a solo artist and alongside other musicians. She plays piano and guitar and sings a wide variety of songs, from country/folk inspired originals to well-loved classic songs and jazz standards. Emily has toured with artists from the worlds of rock through to opera, as a backing vocalist and choir director. She is also an experienced choral leader and vocal arranger, and currently runs several adult Community Choirs. Visit http://www.westsussexsings.com for more info.
Camilo Menjura leads the “LOLCHOIR” (LOL = Landscapes Of Latin America), a choir he started in 2013 specialising in the folk repertoire from Spanish speaking countries. He works with the Mary Ward Centre College (“Love to sing” teacher) since 2015, the SOAS University World Music Choir (choir leader since January 2016), and also leads the community choir “Stapleton Singers” in North London (since 2015). See http://www.menjuramusic.com for more info.
Anna Tabbush is a singer, composer, conductor and SingFest founder and director. She started the first SingFest as a way of bringing together members from local community choirs in celebration of their shard love of singing. Anna runs the SingFest vocal warm-ups each morning and facilitates the group composition of the SingFest Song each year. Visit annatabbush.com for more info.
Dominic Stichbury has been encouraging people to sing together since 2009. He founded the Chaps Choir in 2013 in an attempt to get more men singing and to challenge the traditional male choir presentation. Chaps Choir has since performed in major London venues, played the festival circuit, sung on prime time Saturday night TV and collaborated with recording artists, filmographers and mental health charities.
